As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution, on an exciting project within the Prime Finance team. Join our global engineering team to develop web-based applications and microservices, embracing new tooling and cloud technologies as part of our DevOps transformation journey.

Your main responsibilities:

• Collaborating with trading desks in New York, London, and Hong Kong to understand and enhance equity synthetic trading flows and stock borrow lending businesses
• Developing web-based applications and microservices in Java within an Agile environment
• Embracing new tooling and cloud technologies as part of the DevOps transformation journey

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 3+ hands-on experience in Java backend coding and relational databases (SQL)
• Good understanding of DevOps culture, methodologies, coding, and automation
• Proficiency in distributed computing principles and familiarity with key data architectures, technologies, and best practices
• Extensive architecture and design experience with secure, complex applications across various data sources and multi-cloud platforms
• Experience driving results with relevant technologies and methods, particularly with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an Agile environment
• Experience with Data Lake, Data Warehouse ETL build and design, and implementing Big Data solutions leveraging GCP Big Data services (Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Dataprep, Cloud Composer, BigQuery, AI/ML Platform)
• Familiarity with Workload Migration Automation Tools and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible)
• Knowledge of containerization, orchestration, and microservices, as well as continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) tools
• Open attitude, willingness to learn and collaborate, and a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
• Knowledge of software configuration management environments and tools such as Jira, Git, etc.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Knowledge of Looker Studio, Tableau
• Familiarity with Data Studio and other data visualization technologies
• Google Professional Cloud Architect/Data Engineer certification
• Experience and knowledge in Equities or Securities Financing domain
