As a Senior Oracle Platform and DevOps Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, on a large-scale project focused on automating and optimizing Oracle database platforms. You will play a key role in designing and implementing automation solutions that integrate on-premises and cloud services, streamlining processes for internal teams. This is a dynamic and collaborative environment, where you’ll apply DevOps principles and advanced database knowledge to deliver robust, scalable, and secure solutions while maintaining and evolving existing infrastructure.
Your main responsibilities:
- Designing and coding infrastructure automation solutions for Oracle platforms
- Maintaining and supporting existing Oracle database estates and automation services
- Implementing DevOps principles to automate system interfaces and processes
- Developing reusable APIs for self-service functionalities across platforms
- Managing cloud integrations, including Oracle Cloud at Customer solutions
- Designing observability features and creating dashboards for monitoring
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues in automated processes
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation
- Collaborating across teams to ensure compliance with security and risk protocols
- Applying creative problem-solving to improve efficiency and reduce errors
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Cloud at Customer solutions
- Core Oracle DBA skills, with knowledge of OEM, SQL, and PL/SQL
- Proficiency in OEL / RHEL, RPMs, and scripting languages like Shell, Ansible, JSON, YAML, Puppet
- Experience in API development using Python FASTAPI and tooling such as Postman and Terraform
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Jira, GIT, Jenkins, Confluence, Nexus, Splunk and Kong
- Knowledge of secrets management (e.g., Hashi Vault, Ansible Vault)
- Ability to navigate security and compliance requirements in a regulated environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in bug fixing
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, VMware VMs, Vagrant, Virtual Box
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Knowledge of RUST and PHP scripting
- Familiarity with observability tools for creating detailed Splunk dashboards
