Virtualization Specialist

Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office).

As a Virtualization Specialist, you will be working for our client, a prominent global financial institution dedicated to delivering cutting-edge technological solutions to optimize their internal cloud platform. You will be contributing to the management of their virtualization infrastructure by ensuring optimal resource utilization, enhancing performance, and implementing automation strategies. Your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the delivery of new infrastructure and features to maintain the stability and efficiency of the platform.

Your main responsibilities: Monitoring and managing capacity planning of internal cloud environments to ensure optimal resource utilization and performance

• Designing and developing infrastructure automation using tools like vRealize Automation, Ansible, and others
• Troubleshooting and resolving performance issues with cross-functional teams to ensure platform stability
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive the delivery of new infrastructure and features
• Providing support to customer inquiries regarding virtualization technologies and infrastructure

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in supporting VMware environments and related technologies (vSphere, vCenter, vROPS, NSX, SAN)
• Strong experience with development and automation tools (e.g., vRealize Automation, Ansible, Git, GitLab, Jenkins) for deployment and orchestration
• Proficiency in capacity management and performance tuning within virtual environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamically changing environment

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with cloud technologies and hybrid cloud environments
• Strong expertise in VMware migration strategies and methodologies
• Good knowledge of agile software development principles, practices, and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean)
