As a WebTech Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, specifically within the Payments IT department. Our team is responsible for constructing and maintaining infrastructure across various technologies crucial for seamless payment services. With a focus on real-time demands, your role is pivotal in ensuring robust infrastructure delivery while upholding service availability and stability.

Your main responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise for Web Technology components supporting Client’s Payments Services
• Support project delivery by ensuring adherence to Client’s standards and seamless handover to Central Middleware Production
• Collaborate with Payments Development teams to review, schedule, and implement production changes
• Assist Payments Development teams in configuring and troubleshooting Web Tech solutions
• Manage security patching, fix packs, and SSL certificate renewals for all servers in the Payments estate
• Liaise with Central Middleware function to understand initiatives impacting Payments services
• Offer guidance and expertise on Web Tech technologies and Client’s Standards to the Technology team
• Identify and implement automation opportunities within middleware environments
• Engage in project lifecycle activities and collaborate with stakeholders to meet project timelines
• Participate in initiatives to improve operational efficiency and knowledge transfer within the team

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 3+ years of experience in IBM WebSphere Application Server ND, IBM HTTP Server, and Websphere Liberty Profile in a Linux Environment
• Good knowledge of Linux OS (Red Hat)
• Proficiency in IBM WebSphere Application Server ND, IBM HTTP, IBM Websphere Liberty Profile, and Apache/Tomcat administration
• Experience with Python/Shell scripting and DevOps tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins, Puppet)
• Knowledge of:
  • WebSphere resources configuration, including JDBC providers, Data Sources, JNDI, and IBM MQ
  • Heap dump / thread dump analysis
  • J2EE application WAR/EAR file deployment through admin console / Jython scripts
  • Global Security with LDAP for WebSphere Application Server exposure
  • SSO including configuring Security Domains in IBM WAS ND
  • Fix pack on IBM WAS / IBM HTTP Server / Plugin install / troubleshooting experience
• Troubleshoot support experience in Web Technologies
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver under time pressure
• Experience using industry monitoring tools
• Adaptability to work within a global environment and across diverse cultures
• Qualification in Information Technology/Computer Science, with at least 3+ years of experience in a related role
• Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Knowledge/experience of Veritas Cluster Server
• Experience with other technologies such as MQ, Oracle, MuleSoft, JIRA, etc.
• Familiarity with public Cloud-based deployments and configuration (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS)
