Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office).

As a Data and Financial Engineering Analyst, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution known for delivering comprehensive banking solutions and driving technological transformation across its operations. In this role, you will support the Product Control function by enhancing analytical tools, optimizing data processes, and developing innovative automation solutions. The project involves working with modern data technologies to improve the delivery and integrity of financial data used across the organization, while ensuring seamless integration with strategic infrastructures and business stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities: Developing and maintaining automated solutions to enhance analytical and control processes

  • Supporting the delivery of standardized financial data across multiple Product Control teams
  • Cooperating with Technology teams to integrate and deploy new tools and features
  • Responding to technical user queries related to in-house applications and databases
  • Participating in testing and rollout of system enhancements to new sites
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to design solutions that align with internal policies
  • Building services within the strategic Product Control infrastructure
  • Assisting in the development of the Citizen Developer framework for code reuse
  • Ensuring consistent and accurate data output from various systems
  • Supporting users and fostering collaboration between engineering and business teams

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Solid programming experience in Python and understanding of OOP principles
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with databases
  • Familiarity with VBA and automating financial reporting processes
  • Understanding of financial data such as Trades, Positions, Valuations, and PnL
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude
  • Experience using tools such as Git and Jira
  • Fluent English
  • A degree in engineering, finance, economics, or a related field
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Comfort with test-driven development methodologies

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Experience with pandas and data manipulation in Python
  • Background in developing microservice-driven system architectures
  • Prior exposure to financial control or risk management teams
  • Knowledge of enterprise-scale data infrastructure
  • Familiarity with agile development environments
