As a Database Management Specialist, you will be working for our client, a leading company in the health and data analytics field, supporting a mission-critical project focused on optimizing and maintaining database systems. Your expertise will contribute to the development of data backup strategies and database optimization techniques.

Your main responsibilities: Design and modify database architectures to address processing problems and performance improvements

  • Perform database analysis and develop optimal designs for efficient data handling
  • Ensure databases meet operational standards, including reliability and performance
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data integrity
  • Develop and execute database optimization processes, including tuning and query improvement
  • Administer and monitor database environments to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Collaborate with other teams on database design reviews and consultations
  • Enforce security policies and ensure referential integrity across systems
  • Create and maintain database objects and data definition language
  • Manage data archival processes and optimize data storage strategies

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of experience in information technology with a focus on database management
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in database administration
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve complex database issues
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques
  • Proficiency in database backup and recovery strategies
  • Knowledge of database security enforcement and referential integrity
  • Familiarity with database design, analysis, and denormalization concepts
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams for database solutions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment while maintaining high-quality standards
