As an Engineering Practice Specialist, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution driving digital transformation through technology modernization and operational excellence. You will be part of a strategic initiative within the Chief Technology Office aimed at enhancing DevSecOps maturity across engineering teams. Focused on developing engineering standards and fostering a collaborative, innovation-driven culture, you’ll help build and implement cutting-edge practices around CI/CD, DevOps, and SDLC processes. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and the passion to influence change across a global technology landscape.

Your main responsibilities: Evangelizing engineering best practices within the engineering community

  • Implementing and maintaining robust SDLC processes across teams
  • Driving adoption of DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code principles
  • Facilitating upskilling opportunities to address skill gaps and promote cross-functional growth
  • Defining and monitoring metrics to measure Practice Group initiatives
  • Promoting collaboration through internal workshops, meetups, and forums
  • Supporting engineering pods in removing blockers to engineering adoption
  • Contributing to architectural discussions and ensuring alignment with business needs
  • Enhancing auditability and traceability by standardizing tools and processes
  • Encouraging re-use of effective engineering solutions across platforms and teams

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Proven experience in DevSecOps, CI/CD, or Software Development with at least 5+ years hands-on
  • Strong generalist knowledge with deep expertise in at least one technical domain (e.g., Testing, Site Reliability, Software Development)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive engineering standards at scale
  • Experience working across cross-functional technical domains
  • Ability to think holistically and solve complex engineering problems
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a team-first mindset
  • A proactive approach to identifying technical risks and business opportunities
  • Comfort communicating technology to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders
  • A track record of delivering impactful engineering solutions
  • Passion for continuous learning and knowledge sharing within developer communities

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Background in developer advocacy or managing developer communities
  • Hands-on experience in regulated environments like financial services
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator)
