As a QA & Test Manager, you will be working for our client in the financial services industry. You’ll play a pivotal role in daily QA activities and lead a newly formulated testers team embedded within cross-functional teams.
Your main responsibilities:
- Building a high-performance team in accordance with QA principles
- Supervising and providing direct leadership to the QA team, ensuring standards are met (Quality Assurance)
- Acting as an escalation point for program issues and concerns
- Supporting the delivery production line (development, testing, and implementation) to ensure digital deliverables meet business requirements and are fit for purpose for release to customers
- Managing and coordinating QA testing activity by collaborating with other teams
- Ensuring that QA Testers in the Product line adopt and utilize available Digital testing tooling and processes
- Making sure that the QA test scope is understood, agreed upon, and achieved across all programs
- Allocating and reviewing resources to support various activities
- Providing, reviewing, and validating estimates, challenging any concerns
- Ensuring the project journey meets business and customer standards, highlighting issues or improvements during requirements and testing phases
- Challenging appropriately with a view to get the right result for the customer
- Accountability for ensuring effective tests to cover requirements and customer behavior to ensure defects are caught and do not make it through to live
- Direct Leadership of up to 4 FTE
- Performing and Management of testing activity/resources across a portfolio of projects/initiatives
- Indirect leadership of supporting resources e.g. Non-functional and Automation Testers
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and other teams to ensure speed to market following Agile practices
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Excellent knowledge of the testing process, digital channels, and customer expectations
- Experience building and leading high-performance teams in QA roles , i.e. Quality Assurance (QA)/ Lead / Manager
- Good understanding of project methodology, frameworks and best practice
- Knowledge of the Agile development methodology and experience of working using these techniques
- Working knowledge of test tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Strong leadership skills to supervise and guide the QA team
- Pragmatic decision making skills, with the ability to make clear judgments based on a range of factors, e.g. commercials, risk, customer experience; determine the implications and make recommendations as needed
- Understanding of program management and escalation processes
- Knowledge of testing methodologies and their application in a digital environment
- Ability to allocate and manage resources effectively
- Attention to detail in estimating and validating project efforts
- Customer-centric mindset to achieve the right results
- The ability to quickly understand customer and operational considerations, e.g. risk
- Experience ensuring effective test coverage for requirements and customer behavior
- Fluent English
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Specific technical skills or certifications (e.g., ISTQB certification)
- Background in financial services or related industries
- Familiarity with digital testing tooling and processes
- Awareness of process standardization in QA governance
