As a Senior RPG Developer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial services provider committed to transforming its Core Banking Landscape. Your role involves rebuilding core banking applications and ensuring top-quality deliverables. Embedded within a team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering end-to-end solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Your contributions will directly impact the effectiveness and reliability of critical banking systems.
Your main responsibilities:
- Designing and developing core banking applications using RPG400/IV, RPG Free, CL, and SQL
- Implementing and managing web services, JSON, and REST APIs
- Applying DevOps concepts and utilizing CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Sonar
- Supporting application releases to production and resolving critical issues
- Collaborating within an Agile environment and adhering to change management processes
- Documenting work clearly and communicating ideas effectively with team members
- Reviewing code and receiving feedback from peers to ensure quality standards
- Rapidly acquiring new skills and tools to enhance development capabilities
- Influencing and championing innovative ideas and methods within the team
- Maintaining a supportive and collaborative attitude in a high-pressure environment
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- 6+ years of hands-on expertise in RPG400/IV, RPG Free, CL, SQL, and Embedded SQL
- Advanced experience with RPG (ILE/FREE), including Procedures, Service Programs, and Functions
- Familiarity with application design and development in the BFSI/Banking domain
- Experience with web services and REST APIs
- Strong understanding of DevOps concepts and CI/CD tools
- Proven ability to quickly learn new skills and technologies
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in an Agile environment and managing change effectively
- Ability to release and support applications in a production environment
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with change management tools
- A collaborative and supportive attitude within a demanding Agile environment
- The ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders effectively
