Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (1 days/week in the office).
As a Production Engineering Specialist, you will be working for our client, a prominent global financial institution responsible for managing complex application environments within the Payments IT department. The project focuses on ensuring the availability and stability of mission-critical systems, specifically the Payment Orchestration Layer system. Leveraging advanced technologies and Site Reliability Engineering principles, you will play a vital role in supporting and enhancing various production environments to meet ever-increasing real-time demands from customers.
Your main responsibilities: Providing full scope of day-to-day Production Support services, including resolving live incidents and post-resolution problem management activities
- Installing new software releases provided by vendors
- Implementing locally developed solutions using scripting languages such as Shell, Java, Bash, Python, and Perl
- Supporting various testing activities related to new implementations
- Working closely with stakeholders located worldwide
- Maintaining distributed containerized platforms in production environments
- Reviewing, designing, and re-engineering processes with new technologies to improve performance
- Designing and implementing service offerings, capability uplifts, and process improvements
- Performing data analysis to assist in root cause analysis and identifying data anomalies
- Contributing productively to team objectives, both by supporting and leading activities to achieve shared goals
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Proficiency in Linux and Oracle (SQL)
- Fluent English
- Strong understanding of technology layers, including application landscape, storage, OS, network, database, and applications
- Experience in distributed system design, such as microservices and Springboot
- Proven triage capability under pressure, with the ability to make strong priority judgments
- Demonstrable, excellent communication skills across global organizations
- Experience in Agile/DevOps environments and production support
- Technical curiosity with a keen interest in modern engineering techniques
- Understanding of customer needs and delivering exceptional customer service
- Ability to make prompt and practical business decisions even during ambiguity
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with Cloud Native Technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Istio Service Mesh
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or Circle CI
- Cloud infrastructure knowledge, particularly Google Cloud Platform
- Understanding of messaging technologies and caches
- Experience in Payments environments
- Proficiency in JVM tuning and diagnostic for application troubleshooting and performance optimizatio
