As a Python Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial services organization. You’ll join the GDT / WSIT Data & Analytics Team, focusing on delivering cutting-edge Data Analytics and Machine Learning solutions both on-premises and in the cloud.

Your main responsibilities:

• Developing, implementing, and supporting backend components of Data Analytics solutions as per the agreed architecture
• Implementing data structures, system designs, and patterns
• Managing data ingestion across various sources, supporting batch and near-real-time processing for on-prem and cloud environments
• Creating automation tools and scripts to enhance operational efficiency across GDT / WSIT DA
• Identifying and resolving bottlenecks to optimize software performance
• Troubleshooting and debugging issues, ensuring robust solution delivery
• Writing technical documentation to support developed code
• Collaborating closely with stakeholders across GDT / WSIT DA and other IT teams to build sustainable Data Analytics solutions
• Providing comprehensive day-to-day Production Support, including incident resolution and problem management
• Offering technical expertise to diagnose root causes of major system issues

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 2+ years of experience in data ingestion aspects
• 2+ years of experience in scripting with languages like Python, Perl, and Bash
• Strong SQL skills (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL)
• Experience in debugging using stack traces, log files, and other system outputs
• Basic understanding of networking principles (e.g., TCP/IP, Firewalls)
• Familiarity with system administration tasks on Linux/Windows servers
• Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools and associated products
• Deep understanding of technology layers in application landscape, including storage, OS, network, database, and application
• A commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing
• Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Proven ability to handle high-pressure situations and prioritize tasks effectively
• Experience delivering customer-focused solutions in a global organization
