As a QA Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, on a crucial project aimed at improving and modernizing its testing framework. You will contribute to the migration from E2E tests to component and system tests, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of microservices. This role requires strong experience in Java and testing frameworks, as well as an ability to work in a hybrid environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and optimize software solutions that drive innovation in the banking sector.
Your main responsibilities:
- Writing and maintaining unit tests for business code
- Developing narrow integration tests for integration layers
- Implementing component tests to validate microservices as black boxes
- Conducting system tests to ensure end-to-end system reliability
- Supporting the migration from E2E tests to component and system tests
- Ensuring performance testing strategies are defined and implemented
- Collaborating with developers, testers, and business analysts to improve software quality
- Utilizing Java-based testing frameworks such as JUnit, Testcontainers, and Wiremock
- Maintaining and optimizing test automation strategies
- Debugging and troubleshooting test failures to ensure robust software delivery
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Strong experience with Java 11/17 and testing frameworks
- Hands-on experience with Cucumber, REST-assured, and Hibernate
- Solid knowledge of component testing with JUnit, Testcontainers, and Wiremock
- Expertise in system testing using Cucumber and Wiremock
- Proven ability to work with SQL databases for testing purposes
- Experience working in a hybrid work model with cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and testing approaches
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with performance testing frameworks and strategies
- Knowledge of financial or banking systems and their testing requirements
