Scala Spark Engineer

As a Scala Spark Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution committed to combating financial crime and ensuring the integrity of the financial system. You’ll contribute to the Global Social Network Analytics (GSNA) platform, utilizing Big Data technology and AI on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to identify potential risks.

Your main responsibilities:

• Creating pipelines through Spark Shell to analyze data in one of the world’s largest Datalakes
• Utilizing AirFlow to validate tests that you write
• Collaborating closely with other software developers across different locations
• Following Scrum framework practices and promoting agile culture
• Conducting standard code maintenance, including testing, refactoring, and fixing
• Assisting Product Owners in understanding and refining technical backlog items
• Sharing knowledge within the team and across wider teams
• Participating in the end-to-end product development cycle, including releases to production

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Very good knowledge of Scala Spark
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence
• Previous experience working within Scrum framework
• Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with GCP and Apache Airflow
• Familiarity with JUnit, TDD, BDD, clean code, SOLID, KISS, DRY and design patterns
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch
• Experience with at least one of the major Cloud providers (Azure, AWS)
• Previous Secure Code Warrior certifications
