As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, supporting their Business Manager with financial and workforce management. Your role involves overseeing the technologists delivering technology services on budget, ensuring financial and operational efficiency. You will participate in budget planning, track spending, manage headcount requests, and assist with procurement processes. Your insights and analytical skills will contribute to informed management decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Business Manager in financial and workforce management
  • Tracking and reconciling actual spending against planned budgets
  • Participating in annual budget planning and forecasting business consumption
  • Working with the Procurement and Commercial Management Team to raise cost approval requests and purchase orders
  • Managing headcount requests and approvals, including new hires and backfills
  • Providing regular reports and analysis on workforce positions
  • Maintaining cost records for hardware and software asset inventory
  • Distributing vendor costs to different regions within the group
  • Assisting in billing internal customers
  • Managing and raising queries with technical teams, internal business customers, and external IT vendors
  • Contributing to management decision-making through the use of management information
  • Identifying and championing innovative or improved best practices

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Experience with financial processes and tools
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create content for management meetings
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with global stakeholders
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated accountability and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing activities, schedules, and workloads
  • A degree in IT, Business, Financial Studies, or equivalent industry experience
  • Excellent analytical skills to understand and use metrics for drawing conclusions
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Hands-on experience with the client’s financial tools
  • Understanding of IBM z / IBM i products (hardware/software)
