As a Senior Java Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution, supporting its Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) management function. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining a next-generation risk calculation platform, which leverages microservices and cutting-edge cloud technologies. This platform enables real-time credit risk exposure calculations across thousands of clients worldwide. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with global teams to enhance the performance, reliability, and security of risk assessment systems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-impact project in the financial sector.

Your main responsibilities: Developing and maintaining microservices for Counterparty Credit Risk calculations

  • Designing, building, and optimizing scalable and efficient Java-based solutions
  • Implementing and maintaining REST APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Cloud technologies
  • Ensuring high software quality through test-driven development and automated testing
  • Collaborating with global teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Monitoring system performance and resolving incidents to ensure platform stability
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines
  • Supporting cloud migration efforts and ensuring seamless integration with on-premises systems
  • Mentoring and coaching junior engineers to foster a culture of knowledge sharing
  • Ensuring adherence to best practices such as SOLID, KISS, DRY, and YAGNI principles

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • 4+ years of experience designing and developing distributed systems in Java
  • Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and REST API development
  • Strong proficiency in Spring Boot and related frameworks (Hystrix, Eureka, Zuul, Sleuth, Feign, Ribbon)
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Practical knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing practices
  • Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a multicultural and global team environment
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and business domains proactively
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with a focus on continuous delivery
  • Knowledge of Apache Beam, Apache Flink, and Redis
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible and Jenkins for automation and deployment

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Experience in investment banking or financial risk management
  • Prior experience in mentoring and leading engineering teams
