As a Senior Java Engineer in Credit Risk, you will be working for our client, a major global financial institution, on developing and maintaining their advanced Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) systems. This role involves building the next generation of CCR engines using cutting-edge technologies and migrating to cloud platforms. You will contribute to designing, implementing, and optimizing microservices for robust risk exposure calculations, ensuring high performance and reliability in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Your main responsibilities:

• Designing, building, and maintaining efficient and reliable Java microservices for CCR
• Contributing to the full life-cycle of the product from problem discovery to implementation
• Ensuring test-driven development and collaborating closely with global team members and stakeholders
• Focusing on performance, availability, reliability, and security of the systems
• Mentoring and coaching other engineers in best practices and technologies
• Supporting the platform through incident resolution, monitoring, and problem management
• Developing automated tools to enhance support functions

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 4+ years of experience designing and developing distributed systems in Java
• Experience with microservices development (REST APIs) using Java and Spring Boot
• Practical experience applying Test Driven Development
• Knowledge of cloud technologies (GCP or equivalent) and DevOps practices
• Solid understanding of modern software development principles (SOLID, KISS, DRY, YAGNI)
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions
• Self-motivation and eagerness to learn new technologies and business domains

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience in investment banking
• Previous experience working in investment banking
• Familiarity with agile processes and techniques
