As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution committed to enhancing its core banking wealth platform. Your role involves leading global projects that support settlement and custodian services for retail customers. You will be responsible for the design, development, and support of backend systems built on iSeries and AWS platforms. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on critical financial applications, ensuring compliance, service availability, and continuous improvement through Agile and DevOps methodologies.

Your main responsibilities:

• Leading a development team and supervising project management throughout the entire project lifecycle
• Analyzing business requirements and providing viable technical solutions
• Designing and developing IT solutions according to industry standards and best practices
• Preparing documentation and supporting compliance and audit checks
• Providing system support for business applications and resolving issues during and outside business hours
• Ensuring service availability according to the Service Level Agreement (SLA)
• Offering 3rd line support for existing IT solutions and participating in service recovery
• Actively participating in Agile and DevOps practices to enhance team efficiency and quality
• Collaborating closely with business partners to align technical solutions with business needs
• Adapting to changes in requirements and taking on new responsibilities as necessary

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 5-8 years of experience in development or application support, particularly in ILE RPG and iSeries
• Strong system and business analysis skills with knowledge of the project lifecycle and application development processes
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a global team
• Basic understanding of securities custody, core banking, and investment banking
• Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and excellent time management skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changes in requirements
• Willingness to take on shift work and odd-hour support responsibilities
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver responsive solutions
• A university degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with iSeries Modernization Technology (e.g., SQLRPG, free format, API)
• Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies
• Previous experience in a global or enterprise environment
• Sound knowledge of wealth management
