Senior Systems Developer

Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (6 days/month in the office).

As a Senior Systems Developer you will be working for our client, a global financial institution driving technology solutions that enhance retail securities processing for international markets. The client is undergoing major transformation initiatives in securities transaction settlement, custody services, corporate actions, and more. You will be part of a DevOps-driven team responsible for the full software development lifecycle of backend systems built on iSeries and cloud platforms. This role requires strong leadership, technical proficiency, and flexibility to manage development and support under agile methodology.

Your main responsibilities: Leading development teams and supervising project deliverables

• Collaborating with business partners to analyze requirements and design solutions
• Designing and developing IT systems following internal standards and best practices
• Conducting system and user acceptance testing
• Delivering system upgrades and production releases
• Providing ongoing support and resolving production issues within SLA
• Preparing compliance documentation and supporting audits
• Managing post-release maintenance and continuous improvement
• Participating in disaster recovery and continuity planning exercises
• Acting as subject matter expert across various application modules

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in IT development or application support
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with ILE RPG and iSeries
• Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle and SDLC practices
• Solid system and business analysis capabilities
• Experience working in a DevOps or Agile environment
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with time management strength
• Ability to work independently and within a global team
• Willingness to take on shift work and provide off-hours support

It’s a strong plus if you have:

• Knowledge of securities custody, investment banking, or wealth management
• Experience with iSeries modernization technologies like SQLRPG or APIs
• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and services
• Background in global or enterprise-scale development environments
• Exposure to compliance, audit, or IT governance processes
