As a Lead Data Acquisition Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global leader in cybersecurity and advanced analytics. The client is focused on developing next-generation cybersecurity and data analytics products to secure their large-scale global technology estate. You will be part of a highly skilled team within the Client’s division, using cutting-edge technologies to contribute to the company’s cybersecurity data lake and analytics platform. The role offers opportunities to advance your technical career, particularly in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and platform operations.
Your main responsibilities: Designing and implementing data pipelines for collecting and processing data from various sources
- Ensuring reliable and real-time data ingestion to support cybersecurity use cases
- Supporting and enhancing the data ingestion infrastructure and pipelines
- Driving improvements in data availability and flow across the data platform
- Developing and executing ETL workflows to manage data throughout its lifecycle
- Conducting exploratory data analysis to investigate and onboard new data sources
- Collaborating with platform engineers to integrate data into the analytics platform
- Ensuring data is transformed and formatted correctly for use by systems and services
- Working closely with Principal engineers to support platform operations and production
- Continuously learning and applying new techniques and tools in data engineering
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Strong experience in data engineering and cloud infrastructure engineering
- Proven ability to design and implement data ingestion and ETL pipelines
- Expertise in managing large datasets and improving data flow efficiency
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional technical team
- Knowledge of data management tools and advanced data manipulation techniques
- Experience with programming languages like Python or SQL
- Excellent communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A strong interest in cybersecurity and willingness to learn new technologies
- Hands-on experience working with big data technologies or data lakes
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Cybersecurity-specific knowledge or experience in a cybersecurity-related environment
- Familiarity with data platforms like Databricks or other data lake technologies
- Experience working with real-time data processing tools
- Knowledge of Agile development practices
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or similar
