Application Engineer

This is a Luxembourg-based hybrid opportunity – 2 days from home per week.

As an Application Engineer, you will be working for our client – a world leader in the metalindustry located in Luxembourg. You will be a crucial part of a team focused on developing a new pricing application using microservices architecture in the cloud, involving machine learning models for dynamic pricing and an interactive user interface.

Your main responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain the pricing application while ensuring technical excellence
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine features and requirements
• Work closely with data scientists and other engineers (QA, SW, Ops) to deliver Robust Software solutions
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and test scenarios for new features
• Embrace an API-first approach to application development, ensuring scalability and integration

You’re ideal for the role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably as an application engineer
• Expertise in Angular, Java 11, and Spring 5 Framework, including Spring Boot and Spring Data
• Proficiency in SQL, especially MS SQL Server, and solid experience with REST API development
• Strong background in automated unit testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
• Familiarity with API documentation tools, OpenAPI specifications, and microservices architecture
• Additional experience with Kubernetes, containerization, Python, and API management solutions is highly desirable
• Fluent English
• Experience in an Agile work environment is essential
