As a Data Science Manager, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution dedicated to advancing risk management and regulatory compliance through innovative, data-driven solutions. In this role, you will lead and shape the strategic direction of AI and analytics within the Regulatory Compliance function. You will manage globally distributed teams to deliver high-impact analytical solutions that mitigate regulatory conduct risks and improve operational oversight. This is an opportunity to drive innovation, set governance standards, and implement scalable solutions that safeguard the organization in a rapidly evolving risk landscape.

Your main responsibilities: Leading global teams in designing and implementing advanced analytics and AI models

  • Developing and delivering a long-term AI strategy aligned with compliance goals
  • Overseeing resource planning, capacity forecasting, and recruitment for analytics teams
  • Supporting the end-to-end model lifecycle including development, deployment, and monitoring
  • Setting governance, reporting, and performance management frameworks for analytics projects
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to model risk policies
  • Partnering with risk stewards and stakeholders to define and solve emerging risk issues
  • Mentoring and developing talent across diverse technical and functional domains
  • Collaborating across departments to convert research into real business value
  • Managing budget allocation and financial reporting for the analytics function

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • A degree in technology, data science or 8+ years of relevant experience in the field
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing globally distributed, matrixed teams
  • Deep expertise in AI/ML, statistical modeling, NLP, and generative AI techniques
  • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks and conduct risk management
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across senior leadership
  • Experience in financial services, preferably in a Tier 1 institution
  • Strategic thinking with a history of influencing innovation and transformation
  • Hands-on knowledge of data architecture, ETL, and cloud technologies
  • Proficiency in visualization tools such as Tableau and Qlik
  • Familiarity with agile project management tools like JIRA and Confluence

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Prior experience in a model risk management governance role (e.g., Sponsor or Owner)
  • Familiarity with the client’s business structure and internal culture
  • Expertise in resource planning over long time horizons (12+ months)
  • Track record of embedding analytics into core business processes
  • Experience with collaborative tools like Teams, Slack, GIT, and Advanced Excel
