Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (1 day/week in the office)

As a Data Scientist – Regulatory Compliance (AI & Analytics), you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution, contributing to the development and deployment of advanced analytics solutions aimed at improving regulatory risk management. You will be supporting initiatives that combine machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data engineering to proactively monitor, identify, and mitigate compliance risks. Collaborating with stakeholders across the organization, you are helping drive data-driven decision-making while continuously improving model performance, governance, and innovation in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Your main responsibilities: Developing and maintaining machine learning and AI models for regulatory compliance

  • Writing and optimizing code to apply advanced analytics on complex datasets
  • Interpreting and visualizing model outputs for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborating with analytics teams to share insights and align best practices
  • Communicating findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and partners
  • Creating and delivering fully documented analytical solutions that meet business needs
  • Monitoring existing models and updating them based on validation results
  • Promoting data-driven decision-making aligned with long-term objectives
  • Identifying, monitoring, and mitigating emerging regulatory risks
  • Supporting audits, model reviews, and regulatory inquiries with analytical evidence

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Holding a university degree in technology, data analytics, or a related field
  • Demonstrating strong coding skills in Python and SQL
  • Applying advanced statistical, mathematical, and machine learning techniques
  • Working with large and complex datasets in distributed systems such as Hadoop
  • Understanding regulatory compliance and associated risk controls
  • Visualizing data using tools such as Qlik or Tableau
  • Building models and analytical products that meet governance standards
  • Communicating complex findings effectively across diverse audiences
  • Managing multiple priorities in an agile and evolving environment
  • Collaborating effectively with cross-functional global teams

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Knowledge of Spark, graph theory, or generative AI techniques
  • Familiarity with ETL processes, data modeling, and ontology frameworks
  • Proficiency with collaboration and version control tools (e.g., JIRA, Git, Confluence)
  • Exposure to regulatory models and internal model risk frameworks
  • Track record of innovation in analytics or AI-driven compliance projects
  • Prior work experience in a tier-one financial institution
  • Capability to work independently while managing stakeholder expectations
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on delivering business value through technology
  • Awareness of data privacy regulations and their implications for model use
