As a Java Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution renowned for its extensive operations across 64 countries. You will play a key role in the development and management of cloud-based solutions, focusing on the Financial Resource Management (FRM) and Interest Rate Risk (IRR) products within the Treasury Portfolio. This is a greenfield project utilizing modern cloud technologies to deliver cutting-edge solutions, offering you the autonomy to drive development and innovation in a collaborative, cloud-focused environment.
Your main responsibilities:
- Designing, coding, and debugging cloud-based applications
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Developing and maintaining scalable and secure cloud solutions using open-source or cloud-native technologies
- Conducting system testing, preparing test plans, and ensuring user satisfaction through UAT execution
- Leading feasibility studies for new business requirements and offering technical consultation
- Automating deployment processes through Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps practices
- Applying Istio patterns for traffic management, proxy, and gateway implementation
- Working closely with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure technical compatibility
- Maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, Jenkins, Terraform, and Ansible
- Supporting continuous improvement efforts in infrastructure and cloud solutions
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- 5+ years of commercial experience developing scalable software solutions in Java
- Strong experience of building containerised micro-services with Docker, demonstrable skill in applying design patterns, SOLID and Clean Architecture principles
- Either prior experience of, or willingness to learn, Python
- Enthusiasm to learn all technologies used by the team’s products and SDLC, and follow true DevSecOps principles (You Build It, You Run It)
- Passion for engineering, with a focus on quality, automation and security;
- Experience in Junit and CI/CD toolchains
- Good written and spoken English communication skills
It is a strong plus if you know:
- Linux
- Data technologies: SQL / NoSQL databases, in-memory caches, ETL/ELT etc
- Kafka
- Kubernetes
- Spring Cloud
- Apache Beam, Spark, Flink, Airflow
- Google (and later Azure) cloud-native technologies
- RESTful APIs, gRPC, WebSockets, API gateways
- Cucumber / QA Automation frameworks
