As a Python Developer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, in the Model Risk Management (MRM) division. You’ll play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining critical data-model aggregation systems for managing model risk across various functions and risk types within the bank.
Your main responsibilities:
- Leading the development of sustainable data capture processes to enhance model risk efficiency
- Managing version control and code repository for model validation custom code libraries
- Analyzing script errors and designing effective strategies
- Developing bespoke solutions and tools to optimize Model Risk Management practices
- Driving governance aligned with Model Risk Management standards
- Providing support and training to team members and users for developed solutions
- Collaborating to ensure clarity and alignment of requirements with business objectives
- Contributing to building confidence in models used across the organization
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Experience working within a large modeling or model-related function at a Financial Institute
- Hands-on experience with Python, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Keras, spaCy, and NLTK
- Knowledge of open-source OCR libraries such as Tesseract, OpenCV, and PyTesseract
- Experience with tools like Visual Studio Code, PyCharm, Jupyter, or Anaconda
- Basic understanding of databases and SQL
- Familiarity with UI and front-end design concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand complex data and resolve issues in building analytic tools
- Good judgment, sense of urgency, and accountability in a high-pressure environment
- Team-oriented mentality with the ability to work independently to high-quality standards
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Knowledge of Agile delivery management methodology
- Understanding of the product development lifecycle
- Familiarity with ML algorithms development and implementation
- Ability to develop object-oriented programming solutions in Python and modify internal Python libraries
- Preferred degree in a quantitative discipline such as Financial Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering
- Ability to execute ML algorithms and develop OOP solutions in Python
