Senior AI/ML Backend Engineer – Large Language Models & RAG

As a Senior AI/ML Backend Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leader in financial technology, dedicated to transforming Credit & Lending services through innovative AI-driven applications. You will contribute to building sophisticated, scalable solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and cloud technologies, driving impactful change in the financial industry. Your main responsibilities:

• Design, test, and optimize prompts for LLMs to deliver high-quality, reliable results for Credit & Lending use cases
• Develop and implement advanced solutions using RAG and vector databases to extract insights from complex financial data
• Participate in the full lifecycle of AI solutions — from problem discovery and prototyping to deployment in production
• Apply best practices in AI to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability across all models and applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical efforts with strategic business objectives
• Write and maintain high-quality, reusable, and testable code
• Utilize cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) for deployment, scaling, and management of AI models
• Co-author solution architectures and maintain products post-deployment

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 3+ years of experience in Python and Java development in an AI or ML environment
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI, LangChain, Spring, and data containers
• Strong knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL), vector databases, and key-value stores (Redis)
• Understanding of Microservices architecture, API design, and concurrency models
• Practical experience with Azure and GCP cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GCP Cloud Build)
• Proven background in TDD and BDD methodologies
• Deep understanding of LLM architectures, RAG, Prompt Engineering, and Agentic architecture
• Knowledge of machine learning, NLP, deep learning, and AI experimentation with LLMs
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, capable of explaining complex solutions to business stakeholders

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Certifications in cloud platforms or AI/ML techniques
• Experience working in financial services or credit lending sectors

• Fluent English
