Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (6 days/month in the office)

As a WAF Security DevOps Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial leader operating across multiple countries and digital platforms. You will contribute to a key initiative aimed at securing and automating the deployment of internal and internet-facing web applications. Your role will focus on implementing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and robust API integrations while ensuring the Web Application Firewall (WAF) is effectively supporting enterprise-wide cybersecurity goals. This position blends DevOps best practices with modern security standards to build a more resilient infrastructure.

Your main responsibilities: Designing and implementing custom CI/CD pipelines to support secure deployments

  • Maintaining and updating pipelines to align with evolving tech standards
  • Developing Infrastructure as Code manifests using Terraform
  • Writing scripts to automate infrastructure and deployment processes
  • Integrating external tools and solutions into CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams on DevOps integration
  • Building API interactions with platforms like Kong API Gateway
  • Managing version control and branching strategies in Git
  • Researching and resolving infrastructure challenges independently
  • Leveraging tools such as Jenkins, JIRA, GitHub, and Python in daily workflows

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Strong command of Infrastructure as Code with tools like Terraform
  • Ability to work with structured data formats such as YAML and JSON
  • Expertise in API integration and interaction techniques
  • Solid understanding of Git-based version control and best practices
  • Familiarity with containerization using Docker
  • Basic experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and secure coding standards
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within technical teams

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions like ELK Stack or Prometheus
  • Background in Agile or Scrum development environments
  • Understanding of WAF technologies and security policies
  • Awareness of networking fundamentals and common protocols
  • Experience managing infrastructure across hybrid cloud environments
  • Familiarity with security scanning tools in CI/CD workflows
  • Ability to contribute to architecture-level decisions in DevOps pipelines
  • Prior experience integrating with Kong, Apigee, or AWS API Gateway
  • Motivation to explore internal knowledge bases and independently drive improvements
