As a Senior Android Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution with a focus on digital innovation. You’ll be an integral part of the client’s Digital teams, contributing to the development of DIVA, a global identity validation & authentication service. This service enables real-time identity verification through API integration and facial recognition, transforming digital capabilities in a mobile, data-driven world.

Your main responsibilities:

• Proactively collaborating in the project team, guiding development through the entire lifecycle
• Hands-on involvement in planning, estimating, coding, and refactoring for continuous codebase improvement
• Ensuring software quality throughout the development process
• Communicating technical decisions and information across global teams
• Taking responsibility for releases and contributing to ongoing app support
• Collaborating with others to understand the broader software landscape
• Implementing Continuous Delivery and agile practices for improved product quality and delivery
• Promoting a DevOps culture, participating in software deployment and operation
• Building and leading highly productive teams of technically talented engineers
• Delivering fair outcomes for customers and ensuring transparent financial market operations

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Solid experience in Mobile Engineering, specifically with a focus on Android
• Hands-on experience using Kotlin for Android App development
• Technical expertise on the Android platform with competency in industry-standard libraries
• A keen eye for design, capable of implementing the latest Material Design components and animations
• Proficiency in Dagger2, Rxjava2, Retrofit2, and familiarity with third-party lib integration
• Strong understanding of UI and Core Architectural Design patterns
• Experience in writing Unit Tests and UI tests using Junit, Mockito, and Espresso
• Familiarity with source code versioning tools, specifically Github
• Knowledge of security concepts and integration, including https, cert pinning, encryption, and data protection
• Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Deep experience working on large-scale Android apps or personal projects
• Comfort with pair programming
• Credibility and the ability to influence stakeholders convincingly
• Knowledge of Agile project management with cross-functional teams, using Jira and Confluence
