As a Senior Python DevOps Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading investment bank, supporting the development and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure and cloud-based services. You will play a key role in automating deployment workflows, optimizing system performance, and ensuring high availability of essential financial applications. This position offers a valuable chance to work at the forefront of financial technology, driving innovation and operational excellence.
Your main responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure using Python.
- Manage cloud services, including AWS RDS, S3, and EC2.
- Implement and uphold infrastructure as code practices using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
- Configure and optimize load balancers such as HA Proxy, Kong, and Apache for efficient traffic management.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and scalability in production environments.
- Troubleshoot networking and Linux-related issues impacting business applications.
- Enhance deployment pipelines and operational workflows through automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve CI/CD processes.
- Ensure high availability and resilience of core financial systems.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, automation, or cloud infrastructure roles.
- Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as RDS, S3, and EC2.
- Practical knowledge of infrastructure as code, particularly Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience configuring HA Proxy, Kong, and Apache for load balancing and API management.
- Solid understanding of Linux system administration and networking concepts.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex distributed system issues.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to system improvements.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with administering Sonatype Nexus or JFrog Artifactory.
Language Required for the role:
- Fluent English (good command).
