Senior MSS Project Manager – Finance & Risk Systems

As a Senior MSS Project Manager – Finance & Risk Systems, you will be working for our client within the Markets and Securities Services Product Control team at HSBC's Global Finance Operations Centre in Krakow. You will lead critical initiatives supporting multi-year programs driven by the Fidessa Demise project, including transitioning data sources, enhancing P&L reporting, and collaborating on operational model changes with Traded Risk. Your expertise will shape the future of financial process automation and data governance, advancing the bank’s operational excellence and innovation.

Your main responsibilities:

• Lead the understanding and streamlining of FX position processes within Product Control and Traded Risk interfaces.
• Liaise with and educate Traded Risk teams on FX position and FX P&L processes.
• Analyze P&L Explain data exceptions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Improve governance of adjustments by analyzing data, enhancing data quality, and developing tools for review processes.
• Manage data exception resolution, including requirements documentation, stakeholder alignment, testing, and go-live support.
• Produce high-quality project documentation aligned with the Business Transformation Framework (BTF).
• Collaborate with IT teams to assess estimations and ensure clarity in supporting documentation.
• Identify conflicting requirements or redundant work and escalate to the Change Manager.
• Proactively manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and escalate high-priority items through steering groups.
• Coach and develop business analysts supporting the project initiatives.

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Over 8 years of experience within a Product Control or similar risk management function.
• Proven track record leading or contributing to strategic change initiatives across multiple geographies.
• Strong skills in project governance, stakeholder engagement, and prioritization.
• Deep knowledge of MSS products, systems, and requirements at a Subject Matter Expert level.
• Experience working with Finance, Product Control, Traded Risk, and IT teams.
• Ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, especially with geographically dispersed teams.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Certifications in project or risk management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
• Experience with financial data analysis tools or automation solutions.

Language Required for the role:

• Fluent English, with excellent written and verbal command.
