Senior Data Security Policy Engineer – Cybersecurity & Data Protection

As a Senior Data Security Policy Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global leader in cybersecurity and data protection solutions. You will play a critical role in enhancing data security controls, working closely with business stakeholders to design, refine, and implement policies that safeguard sensitive information. Your main responsibilities:

• Manage policy engineering initiatives to ensure data security controls are effectively fulfilled and continuously optimized.
• Collaborate with business lines to understand requirements and identify gaps in data protection measures.
• Design, develop, and refine data security policies aligned with organizational risk appetite.
• Support onboarding processes for business units into new data protection policies and controls.
• Assist in the development and deployment of innovative data protection solutions.
• Oversee migration of new tooling into production, ensuring seamless handover to service teams.
• Provide reports and insights for senior management to evaluate data security performance.
• Configure, manage, and support DLP and data scanning tools such as Symantec, Trellix, and MIP.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in Data Security Engineering within a cybersecurity environment.
• Hands-on experience with DLP products like Symantec DLP, Trellix, or Proofpoint DLP.
• Knowledge of data discovery tools and their deployment.
• Expertise in Data Security Policy creation, analysis, and ongoing updates.
• Strong understanding of Data in Motion and Data at Rest security principles.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, project planning, and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the financial sector.

English — fluent command.
