As a Senior DevOps & Infrastructure Security Engineer – Payments and Microservices, you will be working for a leading international IT company specializing in high-speed, high-reliability payment solutions. You will play a critical role in supporting complex, regulated payment infrastructures, driving service stability, security, and operational excellence across a variety of cutting-edge technologies. Your main responsibilities:
- Own the reliability, change delivery, and continuous improvement of a complex payments technology environment, encompassing IBM WebSphere, IBM MQ, Oracle, SFTP, APIs, and Kubernetes-based microservices.
- Build, support, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and orchestration solutions to ensure robust, automated deployment processes.
- Manage incident resolution end-to-end, coordinating cross-functional teams, updating stakeholders, and conducting root-cause analyses for swift recovery.
- Develop and maintain detailed support documentation, runbooks, and ensure on-call readiness for critical services.
- Support IBM MQ and WebSphere applications, including security configurations (TLS), performance tuning, and troubleshooting connectivity or message flow issues.
- Collaborate with DBA teams to optimize database performance, manage high availability and disaster recovery configurations.
- Lead secure SFTP integrations, managing keys, certificates, automation, and operational controls.
- Operate and automate microservices on Kubernetes, covering deployment, scaling, secrets management, ingress, and observability.
- Improve CI/CD and release practices, standardizing operational health checks, SLIs, logging, metrics, and tracing.
- Automate routine tasks via scripting or Infrastructure as Code, enhancing operational efficiency.
- Support operational maturity initiatives through high-quality documentation, adherence to standards, and SRE practices.
- Coordinate changes across teams, balancing delivery speed with stability and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and dependencies.
- Contribute to ITSO activities, ensuring service health, operational readiness, and sustainability.
- Contribute to risk and control management, maintaining compliance and supporting risk assessments.
- Mentor colleagues and promote best engineering and operational practices.
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 5 years of hands-on DevOps and Platform Engineering experience in high-availability environments, preferably within financial services or payments.
- Proven expertise with Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, configuration, troubleshooting).
- Strong operational knowledge of Oracle databases, including connectivity, performance, and HA/DR strategies.
- Extensive experience supporting IBM MQ and IBM WebSphere Application Server in production settings.
- Proficiency in SQL and Linux system administration.
- Skilled in CI/CD automation tools and scripting (Git, Bash, Python), with experience in Infrastructure as Code.
- Deep knowledge of SFTP integrations, including security and automation.
- Solid capabilities in observability (logs, metrics, traces), performance tuning, and capacity management.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps tools such as Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
- High level of autonomy, organization, and ability to prioritize effectively.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience in payments, particularly SEPA.
- Knowledge of API gateways, service meshes, container security, vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and operational governance.
- Experience with resilience engineering, chaos testing, and disaster recovery testing.
- Skills in Java, Puppet/Ansible, or similar configuration management tools.
Language Required for the role:
- Fluent English (verbal and written).
