As a Splunk Engineer, you will be working for our Client, a global financial institution responsible for implementing strategies for critical IT infrastructure products. This role involves building observability, reporting, and analytics solutions to fully utilize the data produced by the Platform. You will be part of a global team, ensuring the service offerings are effectively implemented and consumed. Your responsibilities will include maintaining Splunk as a service, managing product upgrades, patches, and supporting the underlying architecture.
Your main responsibilities:
- Servicing requests from internal customers for new data onboarding or updates
- Managing engagements with internal customers from request initiation to delivery
- Owning the design, build, and implementation of internal customer requests
- Creating and maintaining documentation on changes to the Splunk environment
- Supporting the Splunk platform and internal users based on prioritization
- Reporting on and adhering to quality and compliance levels for work delivery
- Explaining Splunk concepts and best practices to new users
- Identifying opportunities for process or product improvement
- Following and contributing to operating practices for best use of Splunk
- Analyzing the Splunk environment to identify areas of poor or misuse
- Ensuring compliance with governance and compliance obligations
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Experience with Splunk Enterprise, Universal Forwarder, and DB Connect
- Proficiency in using Git and GitHub
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Self-motivated, proactive team player with good work management skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Fluent English
- Experience working with global teams across geographies and cultures
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Understanding of Agile ways of working
- Knowledge of:
- Splunk ITSI
- RHEL Linux
- AWS
- Jenkins
- Ansible
- Scripting (Python, Shell script)
- ServiceNow
- ITIL v3 Foundation, especially incident, problem, and change management
- Experience or knowledge of testing principles
- Experience developing automation for a large Splunk environment
- Previous experience managing or delivering a Splunk infrastructure into public cloud
