As a Data Engineer, you will be working for our client, a prominent global banking and financial services provider. The project focuses on enhancing data integration capabilities across the organization, particularly within the Global Business Insights (GBI) Transformation initiative.
Your main responsibilities:
- Designing, building, testing, and deploying Google Cloud data models and transformations
- Optimizing data views for specific visualization use cases, managing performance and flexibility
- Ensuring data solution security with appropriate authorization and authentication models
- Refining and implementing business and technical requirements, refining User Stories, Epics, and Backlogs in Jira
- Managing code artifacts and CI/CD processes using tools like Git, Jenkins, and Google Secrets Manager
- Estimating, committing, and delivering requirements to scope, quality, and time expectations
- Delivering non-functional requirements, IT standards, and developer and support tools to ensure applications are secure, compliant, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective
- Writing well-commented, maintainable, and self-documenting code
- Fixing defects and providing enhancements during the development period, handing over knowledge, expertise, code, and support responsibilities to the support team
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Expertise in database design, particularly in Google BigQuery or similar Cloud technology
- Proven experience in SQL/T-SQL development and optimization
- Proficiency in administration and development of On-prem or Cloud Databases, Warehouses and Lakes
- Strong data preparation and wrangling skills, preferably in Data Science pipelines
- Expertise in the preparation, usage, visualization and editing of data in web, dashboard or other user interfaces (3-tier architecture, CRUD procedures, etc.)
- Excellent understanding of GCP architecture and solution design
- Familiarity with devops tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, and GitHub
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, DevOps, and ITIL principles
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field
- Fluent English
- Enthusiastic willingness to learn and develop technical and soft skills
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience with application monitoring and production support
- Broad experience with IT development and collaboration tools
- Understanding of IT security and application development best practices
- Interest in investment products and the investment banking business
- Experience working in global teams with different cultures
