As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working for our client, a global leader in financial services, joining a dynamic team within the Global Operations and Automation (GO&A) unit. This team delivers innovative solutions in process automation, enterprise document management, and customer communication management, primarily for internal clients in the EU region. Your work will focus on enhancing backend architecture, performing complex development tasks, and maintaining high standards for quality and compliance. This hybrid role offers both remote work and opportunities to engage with cross-functional teams, supporting a streamlined workflow and advanced automation.

Your main responsibilities:

• Leading development efforts and addressing complex Java and cloud computing challenges
• Analyzing business requirements and generating technical specifications for advanced software solutions
• Designing and coding efficient backend components that align with modern architectural standards
• Conducting code reviews, adhering to coding standards, and ensuring best practices in programming
• Working with Spring Framework and Java EE to deliver high-performance applications
• Managing sync/async communications over HTTP, Web/Webflux, and implementing web security measures
• Utilizing tools like GitHub, Maven, and Jenkins for version control, build, and deployment processes
• Staying updated on emerging technologies and integrating them as needed within the EU region
• Supporting cross-functional projects by acting as an expert in modeling, simulation, and analysis
• Ensuring all solutions meet quality, security, and compliance requirements

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong experience with Java EE 8+ and familiarity with newer versions (17/21 a plus)
• Proficiency in clean coding practices and designing code that is easily understandable for others
• Solid experience with Domain-Driven and Test-Driven Development, using libraries like jUnit and Mockito
• Expertise with the Spring Framework, with an ability to write equivalent solutions in plain Java
• Strong understanding of synchronous and asynchronous HTTP communication and web security practices
• Hands-on experience with GitHub, Maven, and Jenkins for managing code and deployments
• Knowledge of modern software architecture principles, including microservices and containerization
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical challenges
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies
• Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows shell commands
• Exposure to Microsoft Power Platforms
