As a Lead Cloud Infrastructure & Site Reliability Engineer you will be working for our client, a global financial institution renowned for its innovative approach to cybersecurity and data analytics. You are joining a forward-thinking team dedicated to developing a cutting-edge cloud-based cybersecurity data lake and analytics platform. The project aims to secure one of the largest technology estates in the world by ensuring scalable, resilient infrastructure and automating operational excellence. You are playing a key role in driving the stability, scalability, and reliability of the platform that supports advanced analytics and cybersecurity solutions.
Your main responsibilities: Building and managing Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform
- Operating and enhancing a strategic data lake and analytics platform within a cybersecurity context
- Supporting application deployment and continuous integration/delivery pipelines
- Managing Azure networking components such as ExpressRoute, DNS, and firewalls
- Integrating and managing common cloud services including IAM, containers, and operating systems
- Troubleshooting and maintaining cloud services to ensure system availability and resilience
- Supporting production environments and resolving complex infrastructure-related incidents
- Collaborating with platform and data engineering teams to optimize service performance
- Updating documentation and ensuring compliance with operational risk standards
- Applying Agile practices to drive consistent improvement and efficient delivery
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Experience with cloud infrastructure engineering in Azure, including compute, storage, and networking
- Proven hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or ARM templates
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash
- Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub and Azure DevOps
- Demonstrated experience with Linux system administration, preferably Red Hat
- Familiarity with security and compliance practices in cloud environments
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across cloud infrastructure and services
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, global team environment
- A proactive mindset with a strong focus on service reliability and performance
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience with relevant certifications
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Knowledge of the Google SRE philosophy and experience implementing it in enterprise environments
- Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor
- Exposure to big data services such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Synapse Analytics
- Understanding of stream processing tools like Spark or Azure Event Hubs
- Familiarity with security frameworks like ISO27001, NIST, or CIS
- Experience working in highly regulated industries such as financial services
- Background in cybersecurity or interest in cybersecurity analytics projects
- Previous involvement in Agile teams and supporting junior engineers
- Certification in Azure (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer)
- Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
