As a Data Architect/Modeler, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, focusing on delivering critical metrics and reports for business insights. This complex data integration program spans global operations, providing vital operational KPI and KRI metrics. You will play a key role in developing, testing, deploying, and optimizing data warehouse solutions and data models. This position involves working with advanced Big Data processing technologies, ensuring continuous integration/deployment capabilities, automated testing, and IT compliance to support a global data transformation initiative.

Your main responsibilities:

• Designing, building, testing, and deploying Google Cloud data models and transformations in BigQuery
• Delivering a data warehouse and pipelines following best practices to support evolutionary development
• Protecting the solution with appropriate authorization and authentication models, data encryption, and other security components
• Reviewing and refining, interpreting, and implementing business and technical requirements
• Managing code artifacts and CI/CD using tools like Git, Jenkins, and Google Secrets Manager
• Ensuring ongoing productivity and priorities by refining User Stories, Epics, and Backlogs in Jira
• Delivering non-functional requirements, IT standards, and developer and support tools
• Writing well-commented, maintainable, and self-documenting code
• Fixing defects and providing enhancements during the development period
• Handing over knowledge, expertise, code, and support responsibilities to the support team

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 3+ years of proven experience/skills in Data Architecture (Logical and Physical modelling), ideally with DataVault
• BigQuery  and/or other OLAP Engines hands on experience
• Expertise in database design, development, and administration with an understanding of relational and dimensional data models
• Expertise in on-prem or cloud databases, warehouses, and lakes
• Excellent understanding of GCP architecting and solution design
• Proven experience in developing and optimizing SQL/T-SQL procedures in traditional or cloud databases
• Coding and development of DDL and DML database components
• Excellent knowledge of DevOps tools like Ansible, GitHub, Puppet, and Chef
• Familiarity with IT methodology/procedural knowledge; Agile/Scrum, DevOps, and ITIL principles
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
• Fluent English
• Enthusiastic willingness to rapidly and independently learn and develop technical and soft skills
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Good team player who embraces teamwork and mutual support

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience in GCP, DataFusion and other Cloud Services
• Experience in Git, Python, Jenkins, Java
• Experience with application monitoring and production support
• Broad experience with IT development and collaboration tools
• Understanding of IT security and application development best practices
• Understanding of and interest in various investment products and life cycles and the nature of the investment banking business
• Experience working in a global team with different cultures
