As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution, as part of the Global HMS team for application development and support.

Your main responsibilities:

• Working as part of the Global HMS team for application development and support
• Aligning closely with the business for Technology/Project deliveries as per agreed timelines
• Working/supporting on any critical issues and ensuring the fix is delivered on time
• Taking ownership of Production Support activities across the platform
• Ensuring support requests, tickets, ad-hoc queries, support to the Application/Platform are tracked and completed/resolved
• Diagnosing and resolving application issues to ensure optimal performance and usability for various system users
• Preparing new best practices, technical, and processes documents
• Developing and enhancing your knowledge through courses, trainings, certification, and hands-on experience
• Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of service functional capabilities and limitations
• Capturing and escalating risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions during the design phase of agile delivery

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Knowledge of: Java + 8, Microservices, Spring Boot
• Primary skills in Core Java, Junit, REST Services, JSON, React JS, PostgreSQL, MQ/Solace
• Familiarity with Cloud technologies preferably GCP (AWS, Azure), Redis, NodeJS, and Application Security
• Exposure to Monitoring, Alerting, Reporting tools, and deployment CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Ansible
• Excellent communication skills (written & oral)
• Good capabilities to work in a team split in different locations
• Responsiveness, especially regarding the daily support of the application
• Autonomy in taking responsibilities for actions to be undertaken and bringing them to completion
• Customer orientation to understand and interpret user needs
• Ability to produce clear, concise, high-quality documentation and deliverables
• Ability to work in the DevOps environment, whereby willing to contribute to multiple streams like Business Analysis, Testing scope, Manual Testing, Support etc.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered
• Knowledge of RESTful API design
• Experience in application development using Java 8.0 /J2EE and related technologies (Spring Framework and Hibernate JPA)
• Hands-on experience on Microservices, Java Design Pattern
• Experience with ElasticSearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK)
• Knowledge of Python and Groovy
• Experience with Solace and Messaging
• Expert knowledge of Agile/Scrum/Kanban development
• Knowledge of Document Driven Databases and RDBMS – MongoDB, Oracle, Postgres
• Good knowledge of design patterns and the ability to convert them into project development

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Knowledge of Basic Python, Activiti (workflow engine), JMock/ Mockito, Shell scripting, Selenium and Serenity, Java 17/21 features
• Experience with any Workflow based application development
