As a Java Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution, within the Global Banking and Markets IT – Futures division. The team is dedicated to solving complex challenges in the financial industry, emphasizing Agile and DevOps principles for continuous improvement and learning. You will play a crucial role in building strategic enhancements to various platforms including FIX connectivity, execution platforms, and order management systems.

Your main responsibilities:

• Building a new vendor-agnostic FIX connectivity platform based on Chronicle Queue/Java
• Being a Java expert with a detailed working knowledge of Java and the JVM
• Handling production support issues and contributing to automation and DevOps improvements
• Conducting FIX client certification and ensuring smooth operation of the FIX connectivity layer

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong core Java skills and hands-on experience in FIX Protocol and eTrading platforms
• Experience in eTrading order routing platforms, preferably in Futures & Options
• Knowledge of Chronicle Queue and willingness to learn Scala
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with Sales/Trading Desk and internal Technology teams effectively
• Demonstrated ability to handle all phases of development and establish solid relationships based on proven delivery
• Hands-on experience with Cash Eq would be considered
• Ability to range up and down the detail depending on the audience
• Fluent English
