As a Lead SME – Cryptography, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution undergoing significant technological transformation, supporting internal teams with secure and scalable cryptographic services. You will join a dedicated Cryptography Services Operations team with a focus on SSH and TLS key management using the Venafi Trust Protection Platform. Your role will center around improving operational processes, troubleshooting certificate-related issues, and collaborating closely with global stakeholders and vendors to drive cryptographic compliance and efficiency across the organization.

Your main responsibilities: Acting as the subject matter expert on Venafi product and cryptographic processes

• Leading change implementation by working with vendors and internal teams
• Troubleshooting certificate generation and connectivity issues
• Supporting SSH/TLS key management and remediation initiatives
• Preparing reports by aggregating data from multiple sources
• Identifying process gaps and escalating risks with mitigation strategies
• Assisting end users in resolving non-standard cryptographic queries
• Responding to urgent production issues related to cryptographic services
• Providing first-line escalation support for team members
• Engaging with business units to drive awareness and adoption of cryptographic practices

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Proven experience with Venafi platform or managing TLS/SSH processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to perform under pressure and manage time effectively
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure platforms and technologies
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills
• Operational mindset with a focus on compliance and standardization
• Stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities
• Initiative and willingness to improve existing processes
• Experience managing technical changes and identifying risk mitigation paths
• Motivation to grow within the field of cryptography

It’s a strong plus if you have:

• Experience using ServiceNow for IT service management
• Familiarity with scripting in Python for automation or data analysis
• Understanding of APIs used for cryptographic system integration
• Knowledge of Splunk for security data analysis
• Experience using Jira or Confluence in project environments
