As a Senior XVA Valuation Controller, you will be working for our client, a global leader in financial services, supporting a key project focused on ensuring accurate valuations and governance controls for complex financial instruments. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders across trading, risk, and operations teams to enhance processes, methodologies, and controls within the XVA business. Your role will also include driving improvements in valuation methodologies, promoting efficiency, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
Your main responsibilities:
- Ensuring governance and controls of Fair Value are adhered to, including oversight of Fair Value Adjustments (FVA), Independent Price Verification (IPV), and Prudent Valuation Adjustment (PVA)
- Leading valuation methodology initiatives, including global alignment and process enhancements
- Acting as the primary contact for XVA trading teams and stakeholders in front office, risk, operations, IT, and finance
- Driving implementation of FVA, IPV, and PVA changes and supporting audits related to valuations
- Engaging with valuation teams across asset classes to increase consistency and quality of controls
- Promoting continuous improvement through procedural and system enhancements
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls, audit recommendations, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborating with teams to maintain internal control standards and adherence to the Global Markets FIM
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- A graduate degree with at least 8 years of experience in Product Control or Valuations
- Expertise in Credit, Interest Rate, or XVA products, with strong knowledge of accounting, valuations, and controls
- A thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and valuation guidelines
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain valuation issues to senior stakeholders clearly
- Proven experience in leading projects to successful delivery
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at various seniority levels
- A highly adaptive controls mindset and proactive problem-solving approach
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience developing methodology and shaping policy for IPV or FVAs
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CA)
- Demonstrated experience managing teams across multiple locations
