Big Data Engineer

As a Big Data Engineer, you will be working for our client, one of the leaders in online banking. Your primary responsibility will involve implementing and designing cutting-edge data processing systems and big data solutions in accordance with the Scrum process and client requirements.

Your main responsibilities: Implement and design modern data processing systems and big data solutions

• Adhere to Scrum methodology and client requirements throughout the development process
• Utilize Python, Scala, or Java for commercial projects
• Implement and optimize Spark processes for effective data handling
• Work with various data formats such as JSON, PARQUET, ORC, and AVRO
• Understand different database types and usage scenarios, including Hive, Kudu, HBase, etc.
• Possess advanced SQL skills for data manipulation and querying
• Integrate data from multiple sources efficiently
• Utilize tools like Maven for project/application development
• Apply practical knowledge of CI/CD automation to streamline development processes

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the IT industry
• Understanding of Big Data concepts, Data Warehousing, and Data Management
• Familiarity with Hadoop Cloudera/Hortonworks platforms
• Strong grasp of best practices for processing large datasets
• Commercial experience of at least 3 years in Python/Scala/Java
