Cloud DevOps Engineer

Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office)

As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution driving the evolution of secure, cloud-native infrastructure to support high-availability digital banking services. The client is undertaking a strategic initiative to improve deployment automation, system reliability, and scalability across cloud-based platforms. You will be working with an international and culturally diverse team, contributing to the build and maintenance of modern DevOps environments, and playing a key role in optimizing operations using infrastructure-as-code and continuous integration practices.

Your main responsibilities: Administering Unix-based systems and supporting infrastructure stability

• Writing and maintaining automation scripts using Bash and Shell
• Managing CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins and Terraform
• Collaborating with global teams using tools like Jira, Git, and Confluence
• Supporting deployments and infrastructure changes in cloud environments
• Monitoring and optimizing Kubernetes clusters and containerized services
• Participating in agile ceremonies and aligning with Scrum practices
• Coordinating with UK-based Product Owners and distributed developers
• Ensuring infrastructure consistency through automated processes and configurations
• Supporting the team in troubleshooting and system performance analysis

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps engineering role
• Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Strong Unix system administration capabilities
• Proficiency in Bash or Shell scripting
• Hands-on experience with automation tools like Jenkins and Terraform
• Solid understanding of Git and version control workflows
• Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence
• Previous exposure to agile and Scrum methodologies
• Fluent English communication skills for working in international teams
• Experience collaborating in diverse and cross-cultural environments

It’s a strong plus if you have:

• GCP certification
• Experience with GKE or Kubernetes orchestration
• Familiarity with Python or Scala for scripting or development
• Background in software engineering or technical development
• Exposure to alternative agile frameworks or delivery methods
• Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, or big data ecosystems
• Strong understanding of databases and ETL processes
• Experience with Elasticsearch or Google Dataproc
• Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems in production
• Experience working in large-scale international enterprise environments
