As a Cloud Economics & FinOps Technical SME, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution focused on optimizing their public cloud infrastructure. This role involves analyzing, planning, and executing cost optimization strategies across major cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, and Azure. You will collaborate closely with various teams to align cloud financial operations with the organization’s strategic goals, ensuring that cloud resources are utilized efficiently and cost-effectively.

Your main responsibilities:

• Collaborating with GBGF teams to understand their business drivers and technical architecture
• Developing and implementing FinOps tactics to optimize cloud costs and maximize value
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency in public cloud usage
• Working with platform teams to execute optimization strategies across GCP, AWS, and Azure
• Managing stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment of cloud initiatives with organizational priorities
• Providing insights and recommendations on Reserved Instances, Committed Use Discounts (CUDs), and Savings Plans
• Staying up-to-date with FinOps industry trends and emerging technologies
• Promoting best practices in cloud financial management across the organization
• Supporting cross-functional collaboration between Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Business units
• Becoming a trusted partner for GBGF teams by delivering valuable cloud financial insights

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Deep understanding and experience with at least one major cloud provider’s product and pricing offerings (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Practical experience with Reserved Instances, Committed Use Discounts (CUDs), and Savings Plans
• Awareness of FinOps industry trends and best practices in cloud financial management
• Strong knowledge of Cloud Financial Operation concepts and practices
• Experience in stakeholder management and building trusted relationships
• Ability to identify and execute cost optimization strategies in public cloud environments
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial efficiency
• Strong communication skills to convey complex financial concepts to diverse teams
• Experience working in cross-functional teams to drive organizational alignment
• A proactive, problem-solving approach to cloud financial management

It is a strong plus if you have:

• FinOps Practitioner Certification or equivalent credentials
• Experience with multi-cloud environments and cost management tools
• Background in finance or procurement with a focus on technology
