As a Data Architect, you will be working for our client, a prominent global financial institution, focused on Wholesale Data & Analytics IT. This dynamic department defines data management principles and provides core data services critical for the Wholesale business. You’ll contribute to data modelling activities, ensuring conceptual, logical, and physical models support business understanding and data consistency.

Your main responsibilities: Rapidly understanding business requirements through interactions with the Wholesale Chief Data Office and subject matter experts

• Translating business requirements into solution designs and functional specifications
• Communicating functional solutions to the development team and supporting them as needed
• Collaborating closely with the production support team to ensure robust support for new software
• Promoting data architecture best practices, standards, and tools actively
• Contributing to Data Architecture Solution definition and documentation while adhering to Group standards
• Collaborating with the Wholesale Chief Data Analytics Officer on data models that support Trusted Source identification and scalable data asset creation
• Providing thought-leadership to enforce data standards and execute the WS Data Architecture strategy
• Influencing IT stakeholders to adopt WS Data Architecture strategy in their designs
• Conducting Design Reviews to govern adherence to the WS Data Strategy and standards

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 5 years of experience in a large, complex organization with a matrix management structure and global presence, specifically as a Data Architect
• Comprehensive knowledge of data principles and the ability to apply technology solutions aligned with business needs
• Experience in Financial Services and proficiency in data domains/functions like Data Management, Data Architecture, and Data Governance
• Proven expertise in data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical) and adherence to governance standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex issues
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including experience with virtual communication tools

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with Hadoop environments (Cloudera/HortonWorks) or GCP Data environments (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc) or similar cloud technologies
• Familiarity with Streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, or Pub/Sub
• Knowledge of application integration patterns and master data management principles
• Understanding of Enterprise Architecture methodologies like TOGAF
• Commercial acumen and ability to apply it to Business and IT data requirements
