As a Data Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution, on an innovative project within the Securities Financing division. This role is crucial for managing and organizing large data sets to facilitate the work of Data Scientists, Machine Learning experts, and management information teams. You will play a key role in driving regulatory and risk reduction initiatives, ensuring data is collated, structured, and ready for interpretation. Your strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to multitask across priorities will be essential for success.

Your main responsibilities:

• Collating, structuring, and organizing raw data into formats ready for interpretation
• Driving vague scope and requirements to completion and working with IT teams for delivery
• Working closely with regional heads focusing on management information systems
• Extracting data, identifying and investigating patterns, and addressing inconsistencies
• Ensuring quality Management Information (M.I.) is available and presented for decision making
• Raising the profile of the organization through effective communication and recognition
• Utilizing analytical and technical abilities for data interpretation
• Using programming, statistical models, and machine learning to identify trends and insights
• Creating meaningful data visualizations to derive meaning from raw data
• Collaborating with technology teams to design optimized data structures for machine learning

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• A degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science
• Demonstrable analytical, statistical, and technical capabilities
• Hands-on experience with Python and SQL
• Familiarity with cloud big data technologies such as BigQuery in GCP or Redshift in AWS
• Experience in creating meaningful data visualizations
• Proficiency in technology delivery and Agile practices
• A proven track record of driving process improvement initiatives
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and prioritize competing priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in feature engineering for predictive and statistical modeling

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Professional cloud machine learning and cloud data scientist certifications
• Exposure to Securities Financing trading, including Synthetics, SBL, Repo, or Cash Prime
• Experience with neural network architecture or other AI training methods
• Hands-on ability in designing, building, and training models using securities financing data
