Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office).
As a Data Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial services leader undertaking a large-scale cloud transformation to modernize its data infrastructure and enable real-time analytics. The project involves building and maintaining a cloud-based data platform to support internal metrics, regulatory reporting, and advanced business intelligence initiatives. You will be instrumental in developing robust ETL pipelines, ensuring high data quality, and enabling data-driven decision-making across globally distributed teams in an Agile, product-oriented environment
Your main responsibilities: Designing, developing, and deploying scalable data pipelines on a cloud platform
- Implementing data ingestion, refinement, and quality monitoring processes
- Building and maintaining data models, marts, and schemas for analytics
- Orchestrating workflows using tools like Airflow and Cloud Composer
- Collaborating with global teams to align data architecture with business needs
- Developing and optimizing SQL code for performance and accuracy
- Managing and monitoring data pipelines using DevOps practices
- Integrating streaming data sources such as Kafka into the data platform
- Creating dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Looker Studio
- Ensuring continuous delivery and automation through CI/CD pipelines
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 7 years of professional experience in SQL development
- Proven experience in data engineering and building ETL pipelines
- Hands-on experience with GCP and BigQuery
- Strong knowledge of data build tools (DBT) and data orchestration tools
- Practical experience with Airflow or Cloud Composer
- Solid background in data modeling and schema design
- Experience implementing automated data quality checks
- Familiarity with data streaming technologies such as Kafka
- Ability to work in Agile and DevOps environments
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across global teams
It is strong plus if you have:
- Experience with BI platforms like Looker Studio
- Background in making trade-offs in data schema and mart design
- Exposure to automated data governance or lineage solutions
