As a Financial Engineering Business Analyst, you will be working for our client, a global leader in risk management and analytics solutions. You will play a critical role in enhancing financial engineering infrastructure and improving modeling processes to ensure compliance with organizational standards. Collaborating across business, IT, and data teams, you will support the development of regulatory, digital, and system-level projects while optimizing model execution and delivering impactful solutions in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Your main responsibilities:
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of current and target states for financial engineering infrastructure
- Communicating with modeling, IT, and data teams to align project objectives
- Supporting modeling teams by producing data artefacts such as business requirements, models, and functional architecture
- Assisting in creating datasets and defining data controls for modeling processes
- Defining business and functional architecture for model execution and monitoring
- Preparing test plans, creating scripts, and conducting functional testing for model deployment
- Analyzing production incidents related to financial engineering and supporting resolution efforts
- Guiding modeling teams to adopt coding excellence standards for financial engineering
- Performing data analysis and ensuring data quality through transformation, lineage, and control definitions
- Collaborating with global teams to align on project objectives and implementation strategies
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- A degree in a quantitative subject and 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in banking
- Knowledge in credit risk modeling for EAD, LGD, PD model types, preferably under the AIRB (Advanced Internal Risk-Based Models) framework
- Strong background in business analysis within change delivery, including producing artefacts such as business requirements, functional architecture, and data specifications
- Proven experience with data analysis involving data manipulation, controls, and lineage definition
- Strong experience with Agile ways of working
- At least intermediate proficiency in SQL and Python
- Proficiency in JIRA and high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and diagram-drawing tools such as Visio
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter attitude with excellent problem-solving skills and a can-do mindset
- Experience in working with global teams across different geographies, cultures, and time zones
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification
- FRM/PRM qualifications
