Java Engineer

Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (6 days/month in the office).

As a Specialist Engineering, you will be working for our client, a global financial services organization, supporting the modernization of its Messaging Delivery Platform. This platform is responsible for managing and streamlining the delivery of communications to customers through various outbound channels, aligned with business strategies. You will be part of an agile product team developing distributed systems, applying modern engineering practices, and contributing to a transformative program focused on scalability, performance, and innovation.

Your main responsibilities: Designing and developing scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot

• Building and deploying containerized applications using Kubernetes
• Implementing solutions on AWS cloud infrastructure
• Creating and managing CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins and GitHub
• Developing and documenting RESTful APIs following OpenAPI standards
• Securing services using OAuth 2.0 and managing access via Kong API Gateway
• Writing unit and integration tests using TDD principles
• Participating in agile ceremonies and contributing to continuous improvement
• Reviewing code and mentoring team members on best practices
• Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Senior-level experience in Java and Spring Boot
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration
• Hands-on experience working with AWS cloud services
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and Maven
• Deep understanding of REST, JSON, Swagger, and OpenAPI 3.0
• Strong grasp of microservices architecture and design patterns
• Experience with OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication and authorization
• Proficiency in agile development and testing methodologies like TDD
• Ability to mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Experience with Kong API Gateway
• Exposure to Groovy scripting within Jenkins pipelines
• Involvement in cross-platform or enterprise-scale engineering projects
• Ability to drive innovation and adopt emerging technologies
• Prior work in financial or highly regulated industries
