Kubernetes Platform Engineer

As a Kubernetes Platform Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial services provider, on the Internal Kubernetes Platform project. You will be responsible for end-to-end platform engineering, lifecycle management, and automation to ensure reliability and performance of critical infrastructure. In this role, you will build tools, dashboards, and automated solutions, support platform upgrades, and participate in system design and capacity planning. Your contributions will help deliver transparent, sustainable, and high-quality services while balancing speed of development with system reliability for the client.

Your main responsibilities: Providing end-to-end platform engineering and lifecycle management on Internal Kubernetes Platform

• Building tools and automation to manage platform infrastructure and service lifecycles
• Improving reliability, quality, and time to upgrade cluster and service versions
• Creating dashboards and visualizations to enhance platform transparency for users
• Defining system alerts and automating responses where possible
• Participating in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
• Automating workflows to create sustainable systems and services
• Balancing feature development speed and reliability with service level objectives
• Troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and system issues proactively
• Collaborating with team members and stakeholders for continuous improvement

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Administrative knowledge and hands-on experience with container and Kubernetes platforms
• Strong Linux OS and container orchestration competencies
• Engineering skills to manage infrastructure as code
• Ability to script in one or more shell languages such as Bash or PowerShell
• Ability to program in high-level languages such as Python or Golang
• Experience in infrastructure support and automation following software lifecycle practices
• Proactive approach to spotting problems and performance bottlenecks
• Flexibility with working hours
• Good written and reading skills in English
• Experience with platform monitoring and alerting

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with infrastructure and virtualization technologies
• Experience working or partnering with vendors as early adopters
• Experience working within an agile environmen
