Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (6 days/month in the office).
As a Lead Metrics Engineer you will be working for our client, a global financial institution leading transformative cybersecurity initiatives to protect one of the largest technology estates in the world. You will join a multi-skilled team of data professionals and engineers, supporting the delivery of timely and reliable cybersecurity metrics through advanced data pipelines and custom dashboard solutions. This role combines technical leadership, business intelligence development, and a deep focus on delivering actionable insights to internal stakeholders. You will be collaborating closely with experts across cybersecurity, engineering, and analytics to drive continuous improvement in reporting and data automation.
Your main responsibilities: Collaborating with cybersecurity stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reporting dashboards
- Designing and developing data pipelines and reusable datasets to support cybersecurity metrics and KPIs
- Building and maintaining dashboards in Power BI for senior leadership and operational use
- Delivering monthly Key Control Indicators (KCIs) and regulatory submissions accurately and on time
- Creating and maintaining scalable, cloud-based data models to support data-driven initiatives
- Developing sharable cybersecurity data assets and ensuring proper documentation and cataloguing
- Mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices in data visualisation and engineering
- Coordinating with global data engineering teams to ensure consistent delivery standards
- Automating business intelligence (BI) workflows and visual reporting processes
- Supporting innovation across cybersecurity reporting through the use of analytics and automation tools
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Proven experience in data engineering, BI/MI development, or metrics reporting
- Hands-on expertise with dashboard tools such as Power BI
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data modelling principles
- Understanding of cloud-based data platforms and reporting pipelines
- Ability to translate complex technical data into actionable insights for business stakeholders
- Familiarity with data catalogue and metadata documentation practices
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a global team environment
- Proven experience delivering dashboards and metrics to senior stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior data professionals
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Previous experience in a cybersecurity environment or domain
- Knowledge of Key Control Indicators (KCIs) reporting and regulatory submissions
- Experience with data platforms such as Databricks or Azure
- Familiarity with cybersecurity data sources (e.g., network, endpoint, cloud, vulnerabilities)
- Proficiency in scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Knowledge of advanced analytics or machine learning concepts
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments
- Certification in data or cybersecurity-related fields
- Strong interest in cybersecurity science and innovation
- Ability to identify and drive opportunities for data-driven remediation strategies
